The three buffalo gourds are native Kansas gourds and grow wild. They about 4 inches in size with a thin shell. First I painted the gourds white, then I used a black sharpie to apply the intricate design.

I used a spray sealer to spray the gourds. One of the gourds has a light run on the surface of the gourd where the sealer allowed the ink to run.
